David Schofield
David is co-founder of Biome Box and the operational mind behind it. By profession he is a fractional COO and operational advisor, working with founder-led businesses in the UK and the United States to install the structure, systems and accountability that let good work outlast its founder. With a degree in IT and a masters in business management, he brings systems thinking to everything he builds — including this.
His route here runs through two decades of practical community building: social enterprises, a sustainable living project, and a veg box scheme in Manchester that made fresh, local produce affordable and accessible to his neighbourhood. He also co-founded a community martial arts school in Market Harborough, where he still teaches. The thread through all of it is the same conviction: healthy people come from healthy households, and healthy households are built on real food, real skills and real community.
That's why Biome Box exists. Food production is the foundation stone of every healthy society, and growing, cooking and eating well is the most direct way any family can take back ownership of its own health. David's role is to bring the structure and strategy that turn that conviction into something practical, repeatable and shareable — so what works on our plot can work on yours.
Alongside Biome Box, David runs Purpose In Action, his operational advisory practice, and is building PurposeOS — a system for bringing order to life, household and work.
